Submissions
GENERAL GUIDELINES
All submissions should be sent to belmontlitjournal@gmail.com with your full name and genre of submission in the Subject heading of the email. In the body of the email please include your contact information and a short bio. All submissions should be attached as either a Word document or RTF with authors name and contact info on each page. Submissions that do not follows these guidelines will be deleted. Please read below for specific guidelines in individual genres.
Submissions are open until Dec 30th. DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO Jan 31st.
POETRY
Please send submissions electronically. Poems must be single-spaced, 12 point font (Times or equivalent); stanza breaks must be double-spaced. Please submit no more than seven poems total, each poem being no more than four pages in length. Bold to indicate the poem’s title. For maximum efficiency, please send all poems in one single electronic document.
FICTION
Please send submissions electronically. Please do not send us more than one short story (no longer than 3,000 words) or two pieces of flash fiction (no longer than 1,000 words) words. Excerpts from novels and novellas are okay, but must be able to stand alone. Simultaneous Submissions are okay. All submissions should be in 12 point font, double spaced, with 1″ margins.
NON-FICTION
Please send submissions electronically. There are no limits to how many pieces you may submit or how long pieces may be, but authors must grant permission for editors to select excerpts from longer pieces if they so choose. All work must be original. Essays should be in 12 point font and double spaced. First time writers strongly encouraged!
ART
Please query first. Send an email to the above address and include a short description of each piece and link to or photo of that piece. If possible include a link to other work.
